Project Description
This project provided approximately 4,300 ft. of 63 inch, HDPE pipe to convey effluents from Kimberly-Clark pulp and paper mill and the City of Everett wastewater treatment plant for discharge to Port Gardner Bay. Work included burying 1,500 ft. of the pipeline in the tide flats using a temporary trestle and sheet piling around the excavation area. The downstream end of the pipeline was connected to 2,800 ft. of 63 inch HDPE pipeline and diffuser system, which was assembled, floated, and sunk to lie 350 ft. down on the sea floor. The work began in June 2003 and was completed in early 2004. The project was nominated for the 2004 and 2005 Aon Build America and Marvin M. Black Excellence in Partnering Awards.
